About Koda
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see HERE Age: approx. 18 months (as of 4.7.26) Weight: 32 pounds (as of 4.7.26) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet the captivating Koda—an 18 month old Kelpie mix with a unique, chocolate brown brindle coat that is sure to turn heads wherever he goes. True to his unique breed mix, Koda is very intelligent and has a fun-loving personality. In typical puppy fashion, he loves to play, befriends everyone he meets, and can’t wait to join you on all your adventures! In case you aren’t familiar with the Australian Kelpie (don’t worry, this volunteer wasn’t, either!) they are totally Type A personality: curious, driven and athletic. They’re also friendly but alert. While they’ll love joining you for Aunt Carol’s poolside BBQ, they also act like self-appointed security guards. If they hear something outside, they will let you know! Koda has made himself known as the perfect house guest with just three short weeks in foster care. He’s house trained, does well in the car, and while he prefers not to be crated and has a clean record (hasn’t destroyed anything) brushing up on crate training might be worthwhile. He walks calmly on a loose leash. He does need to work on his recall, so he hopes to take on obedience training and learn some new commands with you. But most of all, he’s looking for the loving fur-ever family he deserves. Fill out an application today and let this kind soul know you're interested! An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org) **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
