About Fiona
Fiona is a striking, intelligent tripod German Shepherd with a deep well of love for the right home. At just 17 months, she’s already survived more than most dogs. Fiona lost her front left leg due to horrific abuse, yet she’s adapted to her new reality with a spirit that commands respect. Found as a stray, she didn’t get the gentle treatment she needed at the shelter—instead, she was forced to recover without proper comfort, ultimately leading to amputation and a narrowly avoided euthanasia. Olive’s Retreat Dog Sanctuary stepped in, and Fiona made it clear she was ready to embrace her next chapter. Despite losing her leg, Fiona moves with surprising grace and joy. She weighs in at 60 lbs and has mastered life on three legs: she runs, plays ball, and beams with life every day. She’s leash trained, crate trained, and spayed. Her devotion to her people is unwavering, and she thrives on attention, affection, and play—balls and bones are her favorites. Fiona does best as the only pet in the home and needs someone confident and experienced, preferably with prior GSD experience. Patience, commitment, and understanding are musts for this girl who has already fought so hard for her second chance. Fiona loves car rides and will gladly cuddle up for hugs. She’s more than her tragic beginnings—she’s waiting for the person who will help her write a better ending. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
