PupPup -- Loyal Heart, Learning what home means. PupPup is a 2-3 year-old, 57 lb mixed breed with a stunning look and an even more beautiful heart. After spending his early life living alone in a pasture with only cows for company, PupPup is now discovering just how wonderful it is to have people -- and he is all in. This sweet boy is potty trained and leash trained (he politely waits for you to put his leash on and take it off --such a gentlman). He's currently working on crate training and does best when his people are nearby, as he's still adjusting to being alone after a lifetime without companionship. Now that he knows what love and connection feel like, PupPup prefers to stay close to his humans. When left alone in a crate, he can become quite vocal and stressed. He may benefit from occasional anti-anxiety medication during longer absences, and a home where someone is around more often would be ideal. Because of this, apartment living isn't the best fit. PupPup adores dog-savvy kids (ages 7+) and has done well with dogs of all sizes. A playful canine companion would be a great match for him, but he could also thrive as your one-and-only best friend. No cats for this boy. He's still learning the ins and outs of indoor life ---the things like fragile items and household routines are new to him -- but he's smart, eager to please, and making great progress every day. PupPup is affectionate, loyal, a little clumsy in the most endearing way, and full of love. What he needs now is a patient, committed home to continue showing him the ropes and giving him the security he's never had.
