“The dog lives for the day, the hour, even the moment.” This reminds us of Russ, who savors each day to the fullest and is such a free spirit! Why we love him: Russ is a bouncy, happy-go-lucky dog who is always so glad to be in your company! Russ is a mix of German Shepherd and Coonhound. He is two years old and weighs 64 pounds. Russ has one of those wonderfully expressive doggy faces that looks like he is smiling, and his merry brown eyes reflect his joy for life. He reminds us of a big puppy, and is housebroken, neutered, and up to date on preventatives. Russ is a very enthusiastic companion on walks and is more than glad to help you get your daily exercise. He would be a fine hiking or running buddy, too. Outings in the fenced yard are a great outlet for his abundant energy, and he bounds about in total joy! He especially enjoys playing with the toys. Russ loves games of fetch, too. He has enjoyed play groups with some of his shelter companions. If you have another dog, we do require a meet and greet to ensure compatibility. Lucky Russ has spent time in three foster homes, learning and growing with each experience! All of Russ’s fosters love him! Russ adores people and genuinely wants to please. He’s an energetic guy who thrives on activity and engagement, making him a fantastic companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. A fenced yard would be a dream for him to stretch his legs and burn off energy, though a few daily walks would also keep him happy and fulfilled. Russ knows sit, down, place, and heel.
