About Tux

Think you are the one? Submit an application! Professionally Trained and Ready for Adventure Tux is a remarkable Border Collie, Poodle, and Lab mix, blending intelligence, athleticism, and affection in a puppy package. At approximately 14 weeks old and 28 pounds, this non-shedding, medium-sized pup is always ready to be your partner on adventures and delights in staying active and engaged with his people. What truly distinguishes Tux is his impressive training foundation. It's uncommon to meet such a well-trained puppy at this age—he is fully house trained, sleeps peacefully through the night in his crate, and has completed professional training. Tux already knows several commands including sit, stay, heel, come, down, and “go to your place,” and is calm on leash while meeting new people and dogs. For adopters in the Westlake Village area, an additional training package is included. While affectionate and playful, Tux thrives on structure and clear routines. He has shown a bit of resource guarding with high-value items like food or toys—a behavior that responds well to guidance from confident adult leaders. Because of this, Tux needs an adult-only home with experienced adopters who can help continue his training and maintain consistent boundaries. He lives peacefully with a mellow dog and would also do well as a solo dog, enjoying all the attention and guidance. Tux is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and will be neutered at six months of age as part of his adoption. If you’re searching for a highly trainable, adventure-ready companion and are prepared to offer the structure and leadership this clever pup craves, Tux is waiting to meet you in Southern California. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
