Transmission requires serious bite wounds, making it almost impossible in indoor, peaceful settings—shared toys or food dishes aren’t an issue. Most owners simply schedule regular vet checks and pay a touch more attention to day-to-day wellness. Be ready to keep Pumpkin as the only cat in your home or with fellow FIV+ cats. She needs an indoor-only, declaw-free environment, and any other pets in the house must be spayed/neutered and fully vaccinated.
