Rose and Bill (the humans) took in their first stray cat as newlyweds in 1972. From then on, kitties in need always seemed to know how to find them... And they always opened their hearts and home in return. After 53 years of marriage - and a couple dozen pet cats - Rose and Bill passed away within months of each other. As their daughters started clearing out their house, they heard mewing outside and found two homeless kittens. Asking around, they heard that neighbors had started calling them Rose and Bill in honor of the girls' parents. It turns out, both kittens are female, so they've been renamed Rose and Billie. Rose is a talkative, dilute tortoiseshell who is 6 months old and still a little skittish around people. She loves "talking" to you and will allow some pets, but she often scoots away and then comes back for more. Billie is a loving and friendly black and white baby, about 5 months old, who enjoys pets and occasional lap time. Most of all, they LOVE each other. These kittens are best of friends and are together all the time. Just like the human Rose and Bill, they are BONDED and must be adopted together. They will fill your home with fun and cuteness! All Save Our Strays Inc cats have been sterilized, given one distemper vaccine, a rabies vaccine, microchip, and have been tested for FeLV if under 6 months of age and for both FeLV/FIV if older. A contract must be completed prior to any adoption after approval of the adopter by one of our adoption volunteers. There is a screening process so merely wanting to adopt doesn't make someone eligible to adopt. Adoptions are approved at the discretion of the screeners. Please note cats come in and out of foster homes so seeing a cat on this site does not guarantee it will be available when you contact us. Also we do not adopt on a first come first serve basis. The present adoption fee is $150.00 (please note this amount may change without notification). Renters will be asked to provide proof that pets are allowed. Placements are made based on the needs of each cat.
