About Etta Place

Hi, yes, hello… it’s me. Your shadow. Your supervisor. Your emotional support “did you really think you could go to the bathroom alone?” coordinator. I love my people with the intensity of someone who believes personal space is just a myth society made up. Basically, if you’ve been searching for a loyal sidekick who will adore you, entertain you, and gently micromanage your daily tasks… I’ve been waiting for you. Hi, yes, hello… before your thumb goes into auto-scroll mode—can we not do that thing where you pass me by in 0.3 seconds? I’m Etta Place—7 months old, 32 pounds, and yes, I’m a black Lab mix. I know, I know… not “extra fluffy,” not “rare coloring,” not “looks like a baby polar bear.” But before you keep scrolling for your next cloud-shaped impulse, how about we try something wild—like getting to know my personality? Because here’s the thing: I am a very good girl. Like, the kind of good girl people brag about later. I love my people with my whole entire heart, I’ll happily follow you from room to room like your loyal (and slightly nosy) assistant, and I take my job of “helping” with chores very seriously. Laundry? I’m involved. Cleaning? Supervised. Yard work? Even better—throw something and let me show off my fetch skills like the athlete I am. I’m fun, I’m loving, I’m the perfect mix of playful and affectionate… and if you actually take five seconds to give me a chance, you’ll realize I’m everything you could want in a pup—and then some. So maybe… instead of scrolling past me, you could stop for a second and meet me properly. I have a feeling I’m exactly what you’ve been looking for—you just didn’t know it yet. I like to think of myself as very social… with a touch of dramatic flair for introductions. Other dogs? I adore them. Truly. Future best friends, all of them. Now… on leash, I may have a brief moment where I announce my presence like I’m entering a royal ballroom—loudly, confidently, perhaps unnecessarily. But take the leash away and suddenly I’m like, “OMG HI BESTIE,” and we’re off wrestling, chasing, and acting like we’ve known each other since kindergarten. Cats… I mean, I like them. I just don’t understand why they refuse to participate in the games I so generously organize. I may attempt a polite pounce or two to get things started. My intentions are sweet. My enthusiasm? Slightly overwhelming. Kids? Adore them. Truly. I’m very much a “this is my family and I love them deeply” kind of girl. I just don’t necessarily need a revolving door of tiny humans coming through all the time. I prefer a close-knit fan club where I can really shine. New people are also wonderful—but let’s pace ourselves. I can get a little overstimulated if we go from strangers to soulmates in 0.2 seconds. Give me a second to take it all in, and then I will absolutely be glued to your side, soaking up attention, handing out love, and casually requesting belly rubs like it’s part of your daily responsibilities. Basically, I’m loving, social, a little extra in the most charming way… and once I decide you’re mine, you’re really mine. I would like to personally rate my energy level as a solid 9/10… because 10 would imply I ever stop moving, and let’s not get unrealistic. I am what you might call “enthusiastic about life.” Running, playing, zooming, supervising, assisting, re-supervising… it’s a full schedule. The good news? I’m also very happy to crash at home with my people after I’ve completed my daily responsibilities of being adorable and goofy. Car rides? Oh I’m IN. I will hop in like a seasoned traveler, settle into my bed, and ride like a perfect angel… as long as we all acknowledge that I could drive if needed. For safety reasons (rude), I am tethered. Apparently “trying to help steer” is frowned upon. On a leash, I’m actually pretty good—look at me being impressive. Adventure or homebody? Yes. I would like both, please. Take me places, let me see things, let me sniff the world… and then bring me home so I can be with my people like the devoted little shadow I am. Overall temperament? I am the happiest little girl with a heart full of joy and legs full of zoomies. I just don’t love surprises. If something appears out of nowhere, I will need a moment to process this betrayal. Unless it’s food. If snacks are falling from the sky while dinner is being made, I will accept that surprise immediately and without question. Water? Love it. Toys? Also love them. Basically, if it involves fun, I’m already participating. Now let’s talk about my ideal living situation: I need a yard. Not a “we’ll just go for a quick walk” situation—I have energy to burn and places to zoom. Once I’ve got that out of my system, I am a delightful, loving, wonderful companion. But until then… I have laps to run and important business to attend to. I would like everyone to know that I am both educated and refined. I know important things like “sit,” “stay,” “crate,” “here,” and “wait.” I also respond very enthusiastically to “dinner,” which I consider my strongest subject academically. I am fully potty trained because I am, in fact, a lady. Thank you for noticing. I do sleep in my crate at night and stay there when you’re gone, like the responsible, trustworthy citizen that I am. Do I love being contained from time to time? Debatable. Do I handle it like a champ? Absolutely. Do I bark? Yes. I am an excellent alert system. I learned from the best (thanks to my Pyrenees mentors), and I take neighborhood security very seriously. At the end of the day, I really am the goodest girl. I just need someone who sees all this potential (and personality), who will laugh at my quirks, guide me through them, and help me grow into the confident, amazing dog I’m clearly destined to be. So here’s the deal… if you’ve made it this far, congratulations—you’ve officially fallen in love with me whether you want to admit it or not. I’m the full package: smart, affectionate, hilarious, loyal, athletic, and deeply committed to being your personal assistant, emotional support system, and part-time life coach. I will love you like it’s my full-time job (because it is), keep you entertained daily, and make sure you never, ever feel alone again… even in the bathroom. Especially in the bathroom. Now, for the part where you prove you’re serious…Don’t just sit there thinking “wow what a great dog” and then scroll away like a coward. Be bold. Be brave. Be the person who actually fills out the adoption application so it can be sent to my foster family (yes, there’s a process, no you cannot simply summon me with vibes). Apply here: https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app And then you’ll need to come pick me up in Midwest City, OK. I know, I know… effort. But think of it as the first step in your new life of being obsessed with me. I’ll be here… waiting… being perfect… try not to take too long. 🐾
