About Big Red
Big Red spent time in a shelter with his sister, and showed up looking more like a yeti than a Tibetan Mastiff. Underneath all those mats is a giant, goofy soul who adores being around people and thrives outdoors. This big guy needs an adopter who has real big-dog experience—the sort who understands what purposeful movement and guardian instincts are all about. He’s genuinely great on leash and, while Mastiffs are known for being selective about their people, Big Red is social, playful, and pretty sweet overall. He especially enjoys the company of cats and navigates leash meets with other dogs just fine, though he'd prefer to be your only dog at home. He’s loving, sociable, leash trained, and ready to leave foster life behind for something permanent. Big Red is in Davis, CA and looking for someone who wants a true companion to share adventures and downtime alike. Your new best friend is just one click away.

Questions about Big Red
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Big Red, as a Tibetan Mastiff, does best in a home with a large, securely fenced yard and plenty of space to roam. Apartments or tight spaces aren't ideal for his size and guardian instincts.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
A breed like Big Red really needs access to a good-sized yard or acreage where he can stretch out, patrol, and spend time outdoors. Tibetan Mastiffs are not suited for minimal outdoor space.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Tibetan Mastiffs like Big Red can get along with children if properly introduced and supervised, though their large size means younger kids may need extra supervision. They're best for families comfortable with big dogs.
