Meet Maddy, a stunning 1.5-year-old Egyptian Mau mix (our best guess) with the most stunning eyes and unique striped and spotted coat. She made the long journey to Connecticut all the way from Barbados. This beautiful island girl has been through a lot, and while the trip was understandably stressful, she’s been settling in and making a little more progress every day. Maddy is shy at first, but underneath that timid exterior is a very sweet cat who just needs a patient home willing to let her adjust at her own pace. She’s started coming out for churu’s and tasty treats, and she’s even allowing a few gentle pets from the people she trusts. One thing Maddy isn’t shy about? Using her voice! She’s quite the vocal queen and loves to chat once she’s comfortable. She also enjoys spending her days stretched out in a sunny spot, soaking up the warmth and pretending she’s back on her island. Maddy absolutely loves other cats and takes comfort in having feline friends around. Because of that, she would likely do best in a home with another kitty to help her continue building confidence and show her the ropes. With time, patience, a sunny windowsill, and plenty of treats, Maddy is sure to blossom into a wonderful companion.
