Max is a 2-year-old hound with a big heart and an even bigger personality. Weighing in at around 70 pounds, he’s a strong, handsome boy who is ready to find a home that truly understands him. Max was previously adopted but returned because he became overwhelmed and annoyed by the young child in the home—so he’d do best in a household without small children where he can feel more at ease. Despite that bump in his journey, Max is an incredibly sweet and affectionate dog who enjoys companionship and connection with his people. He’s dog-friendly and would likely enjoy having a canine buddy, though his compatibility with cats is still unknown. Max is a strong walker and tends to pull on the leash, but with consistency and proper training, he has great potential to improve and become a wonderful walking partner. He’s a smart dog who just needs the right guidance and structure. Max is looking for a patient, understanding home that will give him the space, training, and love he deserves.
