COURTESY LISTING Meet Sissy! Sissy is a 2 year old bully/pointer mix weighing about 50 lbs. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. She’s dog friendly, has previously lived with kids, and seems to be potty trained. Cats are unknown, but due to a noticeable prey drive, a cat-free home is recommended. Unfortunately, Sissy lost her home after repeatedly escaping and putting herself in unsafe situations. A kind neighbor stepped in to get her to safety, and her previous owners made the difficult but responsible decision to surrender her so she can find a home better suited to her needs. Right now, Sissy is decompressing in a temporary foster home. So far, she’s shown that she is dog friendly, food motivated, and walks nicely on a gentle leader. She’s a smart, higher energy girl who would love a securely fenced yard where she can safely explore and burn off energy. Sissy will also benefit from continued structure and routine. She does best being fed high value treats and meals in her crate, as she can be a little protective with food, something we recommend practicing with all dogs as a proactive (not reactive) approach to setting them up for success! Sissy is in urgent need of a rescue commitment or approved adopter. She is only in a temporary foster situation and has a deadline of Tuesday before she will have to go to the shelter.
