Stella is a female dilute red colored chihuahua mix… best guess is Chihuahua/Corgi or some other similar mix. She is 3 years old and she weighs about 13 pounds. Stella is recently spayed and vaccinated including rabies. She is heartworm positive and on slow kill moxi-doxy protocol with Proheart (we are glad to walk you through how this goes). Stella is ready for adoption. Stella was owner surrendered just after the ice storm in January. She’s been an outside dog and her owners didn’t have an option for her to be permanently indoors, but during the ice storm when she was temporarily indoors, they realized how much she enjoyed and deserved to be. We have found Stella to require a few minutes to warm up to new people and be a little suspicious of them for the first few hours, but once she has accepted you, she shows her playful, affectionate personality quite well. Stella loves to play with other dogs. She loves to be picked up and cuddled or sit in your lap. She’s been doing well with potty training and crate training. She had the crate/potty situation all figured out and then when she was spayed, she had a bit of a setback in that area, but everything is lined out now. Changing homes may also cause a period of adjustment with this. We think Stella would thrive with a doggie door and a fenced yard. She would definitely like a canine playmate. Stella would also be fine with older children, maybe 12 and up. They need to know how to give her the space to trust them in those first few days. Stella is a squishy, lovable, goofy girl who enjoys most things and is always happy. Adoption fee is $275.
