About Jade
Hi, my name is Jade! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home: -Personality: Friendly, affectionate, silly, loyal -Can Live with Kids: Unknown history. Jade is still working on perfecting her manners and could very easily knock down/overwhelm super small kiddos-- she may do better with older, sturdy children who have prior experience with large breed dogs. Recommending ages 10+ at this time. -Can Live with Cats: Unknown history, will need slow, supervised intro. -Can Live with Dogs: We are recommending no other dogs at this time pending further testing at WHS. -Can do Apartment Living: No thanks! A home with a yard would be much preferred. -Potty Trained: Appears to be! -Bite History: No -Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Yes, one private lesson (breed requirement.) -Energy Level: Medium -Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Spay/microchip -Additional Information: Jade is a friendly, affectionate young Rottweiler who's ready to snuggle her way into your heart! This pup is the total package of beauty AND brains-- she already has a good foundation of basics (knows sit, shake, and down) and from what we've seen, appears to be a well-adjusted dog who'd likely fit well into most home environments. We'd love to see her go to someone experienced with the breed although this is not a requirement. Jade is likely to form a very strong bond with her person/people-- she's very attentive to/in tune with whoever's at the other end of the leash and frequently looks to her human for direction. Since Jade came to us as a stray we have no idea what her life was like before this, but what we DO know is that she's more than ready to find a forever family to call her own. **I'M A HERO ANIMAL!** Hero animals are identified by WHS staff and have a higher adoption fee. These hero animals may be purebred, popular mixed breed, or highly sought after for a variety of reasons. They are considered "heroes" because the higher adoption fee associated with these special companions helps support ongoing animal care and veterinary programs for all the animals at our domestic animal shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
