My name is Iris. I’m only 1.5 years old. Someone let this happen to me. That wound on my belly… it didn’t just appear. It’s the kind of injury that tells a story — one of neglect, pain, and a life where no one was looking out for me. I don’t know what I did wrong. I don’t know why I wasn’t protected. But I survived. They took me in, cleaned my wounds, and showed me something I hadn’t known much of before… kindness. I’m healing now — slowly, both on the outside and inside. And even after everything… I’m still sweet. Still gentle. Still hoping. I’m about 1.5 years old, 45 lbs, a beautiful Lab mix with the softest eyes. I’m spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped — ready for a real home. But what I need most isn’t medical care anymore. It’s someone who will never let anything like this happen to me again. Someone who will see my scars and understand they’re not something to hide… they’re proof that I made it through. I don’t need a perfect life. I just need a safe one. A kind one. A forever one. Rescue Coop is a registered 501c that saves dogs from imminent euthanasia and at risk situations and transports them directly to approved adopters nationwide. We are located in SC but in three years, we have placed 450 dogs in 20 states. We post our dogs in the areas we regularly transport to. Our adoption fee is $200 with no additional transport charges. Unfortunately we are unable to do meet and greets but our adoption coordinators strive to make excellent matches.
