Nova is a 9-month-old, 45 lb collie mix with a goofy, affectionate personality that will melt your heart. Once a shy pup who would belly crawl, she’s blossomed into a curious, loving girl who is fully up to date on vaccines, spayed, and microchipped. Full of energy and always up for a game, Nova loves chasing balls, carrying her stuffed toys, and most of all, snuggling up after a day of play. She’s currently living with two other dogs and enjoys romping with the more laid-back pup, though she doesn’t always get along with every canine companion. Nova thrives in a home with a yard for sniffing, chasing, and sunbathing. She adores school-aged children but hasn’t met younger kids, and she would be happiest with a family who works from home or has other dogs for company. Well on her way with crate and house training, Nova knows several basic commands and enjoys using her brain with treat puzzles and training games. A recent, traumatic leash incident left her a bit hesitant about walks in unfamiliar places, but with ongoing patience and encouragement, she continues to improve. Nova is food possessive, so she’s fed separately from other dogs, and with gentle, positive training, she’ll keep blossoming into the confident, happy pup she’s meant to be. Nova is being rehomed because of compatibility issues with one of the resident dogs, though she gets along beautifully with others.
