Super canine companion playmate, smaller size, loves taking leash walks and enjoys belly rubs! Dale is searching for a family, preferably with a couch or chair he can take a nap on! Dale likes to keep life simple! He bonds nicely with his main people but he's used to a small circle as he grew up living outside with a group of dogs instead of in a house with humans. He would appreciate a new family with patience as sometimes new things are scary for him and he wants to avoid them. With his confident and loving owner, he will do his best to power through the uncertainty. We don't know his parents, so we're doing our best to guess his breed mix. The body type of the Swedish Vallhund matches Dale's. But our boy's coat is short and his tail is barely there. He is colored exactly like his foster sister who is 50% German Shepherd. He does have a prey drive which also matches the Swedish Vallhund as a hunter. Dale is trained through the Paws Behind Bars Training Program and has learned leash-walking skills which he does very well! He also knows basic commands such as sit, down, come, and may even be learning the "play dead" trick too! He enjoys walks and the woods are his favorite. Dale is potty trained, and plays well with most other dogs! He's a fairly laid back dude! Don't let the pictures of him deceive you, he's a smaller guy, maybe 27 pounds, is around 2-3 years of age and is fully vetted, including neuter, vaccines, microchip and more.
