FIV is an immuno-suppressing virus that cats can get. But have no fear! Cats with FIV can live a happy and long life. They must be indoor only for the rest of their lives, so they don't pass it to other cats. In the past, it was believed FIV+ cats have to be the only cat in the house. But from recent research, it is possible for them to live with other cats if both are non-confrontational and will not fight. Transmission to other cats is primarily from deep bite wounds. Sunny can have some anxiety from time to time, so he is on anxiety meds. He will need to continue these meds for at least a couple months into a new home.
