At 3.5 years old, this handsome Black Lab mix has a sleek, shiny coat, a strong and healthy build, and an unmatched enthusiasm for life. Wherever the fun is happening, you can bet Dee will be right in the middle of it, ready to join in. Dee’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. He was originally brought to a shelter in Texas in December 2024 and spent over a year there — becoming their longest resident. As his time was running out, he got a second chance when he was transported up here to find the loving forever home he truly deserves. This boy loves to play — whether it’s with people or other dogs, especially those who can match his size and energy. He may need a controlled introduction to new canine friends, but once he realizes they’re ready to have fun, his playful spirit shines instantly. With people, Dee can be a little shy at first — particularly around men — but give him a toy or a few treats, and you’ll quickly see his walls come down. Before long, he’ll be leaning his whole body into you, soaking up affection and asking for more ear scratches and butt rubs (his absolute favorites!). Dee is fully potty-trained and crate-trained, making him an easy addition to a home. He does well with other dogs and could potentially live with cats given proper introductions and training. He would also do best with children who are old enough to understand and respect his boundaries. After spending most of his life as a stray and in a shelter, Dee is ready to finally experience what it means to be loved.
