What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy! Neeko is laying in her hidey cubby, tucked curled up behind her blanket towards the back wall, body tense and pupils dilated. When the cubby door is opened, she lowers her head, lip licking. She allows all petting, leaning in and closing her eyes when she is softly spoken to and pet on the head and cheeks but tensing slightly when she is pet down her back. Neeko is unable to be coaxed out of the cubby so pickup is unable to be attempted. She does, however, allow light upward pressure under her chest without issue. Neeko is a shy, sweet girl who tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that she go to a home with some cat experience preferred and be well counseled in fearful cat behavior.
