Baby Daphne was all alone in a nearby County Animal Shelter, just beginning to learn how to eat gruel at about 3 weeks old when we spotted her and instantly fell in love. She came to Alaqua a few days later but was too small to stay at the Refuge so she went into foster care. Daphne is loving, playful, and incredibly smart. At just 8 weeks old, she's already proving to be something special and is easily one of the best pups her experienced foster has ever cared for. She's off to an amazing start with her training, already understanding commands like "here," "sit," and even a short "stay." With guidance from her foster, a volunteer and mentor for Alaqua's puppy pre-school, Daphne is getting a strong foundation in both manners and socialization. She is already sleeping through the night (up to 8 hours) accident free and prefers to potty outside in the grass. That's a huge head start for a puppy her age! Daphne loves to play and gets along wonderfully with her foster's two adult dogs. She's also been introduced to a cat and is curious, but respectful, just another sign of her easygoing and adaptable nature. This bright, affectionate girl is going to make an incredible addition to a lucky family. Whether it's playtime, training, or snuggling on the couch, Daphne is ready to be your perfect companion.
