This sweet dachshund mix made her journey from Puerto Rico to New York, and now she is safe in foster and ready to find her forever family. Her mama is a tiny 20 pounds, and Hazel has those classic little legs that hint at her dachshund roots. We expect her to stay on the smaller side of medium, likely around 25 to 35 pounds full grown. Hazel is as sweet as they come. She has a gentle, loving personality with a playful streak that keeps things fun. She loves to toddle around exploring, follow her people wherever they go, and then curl right up next to you when she is ready to rest. She is doing great in foster and gets along with dogs, kids, and even cats. She is still a baby and learning the basics, but she is eager, curious, and ready to grow into a loyal, loving companion with a little guidance. Each pup is examined by our vet and treated for age-appropriate needs. This typically includes: * Full health exam * Deworming * Core vaccines (Bordetella, DHPP series, Rabies) * Microchipping * Monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention IMPORTANT: This dog has not yet been altered. Wilder Souls Rescue requires a $100 deposit in addition to the adoption fee, along with a strictly enforced Spay/Neuter Contract that states you must have this dog altered within 6 months of adoption. The $100 deposit will be returned once the contract has been fulfilled.
