About Rory

Rory 9 weeks old 7pounds Female Mixed breed If you're out on your own, feeling lonely and so cold. All you gotta do is call Rory and I’ll be there as your best friend! Hi — I’m Rory, and I can’t wait to meet you! I’m fostered with my sister, three resident dogs, and two resident senior cats. I’m so friendly that when I first met everyone I wanted to play all day. I’ve already made lots of new human friends and I greet newcomers with sweet little kisses on their hands and will immediately ask to be picked up. I’m adventurous and love exploring, but I know my boundaries — the first time I went outside I scoped out the area to make sure it was safe and then jumped in the leaves, and ran around the yard with my sister while staying close to my foster moms. I adore playing and cuddling with dogs of all sizes and learn quickly by watching the older dogs. I love play-fighting with my 50 lb and 80 lb foster sisters, and I’m respectful of our oldest foster sister who prefers to be quieter. I’m curious about cats but give them space; one of the kitties has even started napping on the couch next to me since I have been so respectful. I’m a very happy, playful pup who also loves cuddling — you’ll often find me on the couch with my sister or my foster moms, or curled up at their feet if I can’t get up. I enjoy stuffed toys, but playing with my sister is my favorite, so I’d thrive in a home with another dog companion. I’m already learning “no” and “come” since I’m such a quick learner. Because I’m young, housetraining is just getting started, but I’m doing really well with indoor potty pads and my foster moms are confident I’ll continue to improve. At night I sleep with my sister in a crate attached to a playpen with potty pads since I’m still small and need overnight bathroom breaks. I’m quiet when I wake and go right back to sleep after using my pad. I’m also a car rock star — I usually fall asleep right away and don’t cry on trips. If you’re looking for a playful, cuddly puppy to join your adventures and snuggle sessions, please contact Safe Haven about me — I can’t wait to meet you! Our standard adoption fee is $465. We offer a $15 discount for adopters who pay by cash or check, making the adoption fee $450. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal test, deworming, current on flea and tick preventative, and microchip. To ensure the best match for both our dogs and adopters, we require a fully completed adoption application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with the entire household. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption and does not obligate you to adopt; it simply allows us to begin the review process. To request an application or for additional details, please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to approve or decline any adoption application based on the best interest of the dog.
