About Mama Coco
Mama Coco is such a sweet, cuddly girl. She is comfortable with people, kids, cats, and other dogs. She will even cuddle with people she has just met. She loves to take naps while wrapped up in a blanket. All she wants is to be held and loved. She also likes to go on walks and walks well on a leash.Ā Mama Coco was transferred to Valley Humane on 3/9 from the Tri-City Animal Shelter. She had been found stray. Mama Coco is a senior dog (estimated to be aged between 7 and 10 years) and weighs 6.2 pounds. This dog presented to VHS with severe, end-stage periodontal disease. Unfortunately, due to the severity of the dental disease, she required extraction of all remaining teeth. She is currently healing well from this major oral procedure. While healing, it is recommended that this dog only be offered canned or soft food and not have access to hard toys through 4/16/26. It is likely that she will prefer canned/soft food for the rest of her life. This dog had a mammary mass removed and submitted to the veterinary laboratory for testing. The mass was determined to be a mammary gland adenoma, which is a benign tumor type that is not uncommon in dogs spayed late in life. Fortunately, these types of masses are very unlikely to recur and are cured by removal. We do not anticipate the need for any further care for this mass, however, it is possible that she could develop new tumors in other mammary glands in the future that could require treatment by your family veterinarian. Any further medical expenses sought out after adoption will be at the cost of the adopter. Do you have questions about this animal or are you ready to take the next step to adoption?
