And despite everything he’s been through, Winky is incredibly sweet. He greets you with soft, gentle meows when you walk into the room, as if he’s been waiting just for you. He loves affection and will happily rub up against you, purring loudly in pure contentment, especially when you scratch the back of his neck and speak to him softly. Those moments are where you really see who Winky is: a loving, affectionate soul who has so much to give. Because Winky spent years fending for himself outside, he’s still learning what it means to feel completely safe. He will need a patient, understanding home that can go at his pace. Winky would do best as the only pet in the home. Given his history and sensitive nature, he hasn’t shown comfort around other animals, and a quieter, adult-only home would be the best match for him. He can be a little unsure at times, so a calm environment where people can go slow and respect his boundaries will help him feel safe and loved. Winky is FIV+, but this doesn’t stop him from living a full, healthy, happy life. Cats with FIV can live just as long as other cats.
