On one of the coldest nights of the year, Turtle was found cold and starving at just 5 poundsāless than half the weight a healthy cat his age should be. With a stubborn, dignified patience, he waited for help to come. Now, heās thriving and has fully regained his status as king of the house. Turtle is bold about what he wants: head scratches, constant attention, andāmost importantlyāa steady supply of wet food. Heās the type who will walk right up for pets, and if youāre slow to respond, heāll climb into your lap to get them himself. Boundaries are a flexible concept in his world. Turtle gets along well with other calm cats and isnāt interested in playmates but does fine with respectful, peaceful dogs. Other animals are tolerated as long as they recognize his royal status and give him space. What Turtle really wants is his own kingdom, filled with blankets and full food bowls.
