Life hasn’t given her the chance to be a cherished companion yet, and she is still learning what it means to be safe, loved, and part of a family. Beneath her uncertainty is a tender, sensitive girl who wants to trust but doesn't yet know how. Ellie would thrive in a peaceful home environment with older or no children where commotion and noise won't overwhelm her. She responds best to calm voices, soft hands, and predictable routines. Sudden movements still startle her, but when approached with patience she leans into gentle pets and enjoys being brushed. She walks beautifully on a leash and loves quiet slow strolls in the neighborhood and peaceful time in the yard, where she’s beginning to discover the joys of sniffing and exploring . She is fully housetrained but needs a fenced yard, as she isn’t yet comfortable going potty on leash. Eating and drinking around people is still intimidating for her, so she tends to do so overnight when the house is quiet, a habit she may outgrow as she gains confidence. Ellie does seem to find comfort in the presence of another calm adult dog, though it isn’t required.
