Meet Petra! Petra is an 8 year old pittie mix who is looking for her next adventure. Petra is a very social and friendly girl who has loved everyone she has met here- if you have a toy or a tasty treat? She is your best friend even faster! We do not have too much history on Petra but we can tell you she is a bit nervous upon first meeting but seems to warm up very quickly and loves to come over and say hello with her toys, ready for you to start a good game of fetch. Petra needs some continued basic training in her new home but besides that she is the package deal of a cuddly and playful girl! Petra would love to meet you and hopefully be your next bestie in life! Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You'll be able to meet available dogs in the shelter. (Dogs in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you're ready to adopt without meeting the dog first, or you'd like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a dog for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available for puppies under six months, on Saturdays, or during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations - heartworm test -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter -treatment of fleas & ticks -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us.
