About Sonata
Sonata is a striking young domestic short hair with a soft, gray-blue coat and bright eyes. She had a rough beginning—abandoned in a closed carrier near the beach in Seagate, Brooklyn. Only her determined cries caught a volunteer’s ear, and that lucky break brought her to safety. Trauma left Sonata deeply withdrawn at first. Her foster family showed a lot of patience, hand-feeding her and giving her time to find trust and comfort again. Now, Sonata is opening up. She’s a bit reserved around new people but warms up with gentle encouragement. Sonata loves to play—especially with other cats and will happily romp with a small, gentle dog. She has gained confidence and is ready to meet a family who can offer patience as she gets comfortable. She’s spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and healthy. Sonata will do best with another cat or cat-friendly dog, or as part of a bonded pair. She is suitable for homes with children if they understand her shy nature. She needs adopters who are willing to let her adjust at her own pace. Sonata is available for adoption throughout NYC, NJ, and Long Island. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
