About Puddles
Puddles – the gentle soul who survived the storm Some dogs come into rescue with stories that stay with you forever... and Puddles is one of them. At just 6 years old, this sweet dachshund mix has already endured more than most ever should. She was one of 36 dogs rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation—confined to a small camper, living in filth, and missing out on the love every dog deserves. And yet... somehow, Puddles came out of it with her heart still wide open. There isn't a mean bone in her body. She has shown nothing but kindness to every person and animal she meets. While she seems to feel safest with women, her gentle, loving nature shines through in everything she does. You'll see it in her soft eyes—the kind that tell a story, but still choose trust. Puddles is that perfect in-between kind of dog. She's calm and easygoing, but every now and then her playful side peeks out—especially when she's running through the grass, ears flopping in the wind, finally feeling free. It's in those moments you realize... she's learning what it means to just be a dog. She's a simple girl with simple wishes: A soft bed (or even better—a cozy blanket), A full belly (she loves her food!), And most of all... a safe place right next to her person. Her favorite place to sleep? Curled up in bed beside you, where she knows she belongs. Puddles is crate trained, keeps her space clean, and is wonderfully quiet. Every so often, she'll let out a soft little whimper—not out of distress, but just to say, “Hey... I'd really love to be close to you right now.” And honestly, once you meet her, you won't want to be far from her either. She's done well with cats and gets along peacefully with other dogs, making her an easy addition to a loving home. Puddles is heartworm negative, fully vaccinated, and will be spayed on April 17th—ready to start her next chapter. After everything she's been through, Puddles isn't looking for anything extraordinary. She's just looking for peace... for softness... for someone who will show her that the storm is finally over. She's waited long enough. Now she just needs her person to bring her home please fill out an adoption application if you would like to have her join your family. Her $275 adoption fee covers medical care to include vaccines, spay, microchip, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY.
