Meet Wes! Wes (full name Wesleya) is a 1-year-old Pit Bull / Jack Russell Terrier mix with the sweetest soul and the softest heart. She may be a little cautious when meeting new people, dogs, or exploring new environments, but give this girl a day to settle in and you'll discover her true personality — a loving cuddle bug who just wants to snuggle up close to her people. Wes is still working on her house training, but she's making progress. She happily goes outside when given the opportunity and, with a consistent routine, she'll continue to improve in no time. She is already spayed and up to date on vaccines. She walks nicely on a leash and enjoys getting out for walks. Wes can play with other dogs but tends to prefer calmer companions. Female dogs are usually a better match for her, as she can be a bit snippy with male dogs at first. That said, if other dogs respect her space, she's perfectly happy to coexist peacefully — just like she does with her foster brother who learned quickly to give her a little room. A home with a tall fenced yard would be wonderful (this girl has some hops!), but she also does well being walked on a leash or using a lead. Wes sleeps in her crate at night and while her humans are away, but if she had it her way, she'd happily upgrade to sharing a cozy bed with her people. She has a soft spot for women and bonds quickly with them, but with some patience, kindness, and a few tasty snacks, she can absolutely warm up to men too. Wes just needs a little time to settle in and feel safe — and once she does, you'll have a loyal, loving best friend for life.
