About Rolo

Rolo is not your average cat, and she’s going to need someone who understands that from the very beginning. Rolo is a little over a year old and has a neurological condition that affects her back legs. She gets around by scooting, and while she’s adapted in her own way, she does need daily, hands-on care to stay healthy and comfortable. This includes manual expression for both her bladder and bowels multiple times a day, along with wearing a diaper in between to manage any leaks. Her routine is not optional, it is essential to her quality of life. Because of this, Rolo’s adopter must be fully committed, patient, and willing to learn. There will be a learning curve, and her care will need to be consistent every single day. She is not a low-maintenance pet, and she will not do well in a home where her needs can’t be prioritized. If you were to only read about her condition, you might wonder if it’s fair to ask her to live this way. But the moment you meet her, that question fades. Rolo is bright, affectionate, and absolutely full of life. She chirps and talks to you constantly, seeks out attention, and wants nothing more than to be held close. Her favorite place is snuggled up on your chest, completely content just being near her person. She doesn’t see herself as limited, and in so many ways, she isn’t. Rolo wakes up every day happy, curious, and ready to love. She has a spark that’s impossible to ignore, and she forms deep bonds with the people who care for her. She is a reminder that joy doesn’t come from perfection, it comes from connection. We are being very intentional in finding her home. Without proper care, Rolo is at high risk for discomfort, infection, and a diminished quality of life. But in the right home, she has every chance to thrive. We know that person is out there. Someone patient. Someone devoted. Someone who sees Rolo not as a burden, but as a deeply rewarding companion. Rolo has been vaccinated, wormed, spayed/neutered and tested negative for FELV/FIV which is all included in the adoption fee. If you would like to adopt this cat, you must come into the shelter for a meet and greet. We are open 12-4. (Closed Mondays & Wednesdays) All cats must leave the shelter in a carrier. If you do not bring one with you, one must be purchased at the shelter if available for $6.
