Gertrude, lovingly called Trudy, is a calm, joyful senior girl who is ready to spend her golden years in a home full of love. She's the kind of dog who instantly makes you feel at ease-quiet, affectionate, and always happy to be by your side. Trudy absolutely loves people and soaks up attention any chance she gets-she insists on pets and cuddles and will gladly lean into you for more. She's wonderful with kids (she adores spending time with her 10-year-old buddy), gets along great with other dogs, and peacefully ignores cats. She truly fits in just about anywhere. She's fully house-trained and crate-trained, happily going into her crate without being asked and treating it like her own cozy retreat. Trudy is very well-mannered, knows how to sit, walks nicely on a leash, rides great in the car, and isn't destructive or barky. With her low energy level, she's perfectly content with a short stroll and then heading back inside for a nap in her favorite bed. Currently in a foster home, Trudy is recovering from a skin condition from fleas and improving every single day. She's already come so far and is well on her way to feeling her absolute best. Trudy doesn't need a yard or another dog to be happy-she'd do just fine in an apartment or a house, as long as she has a soft place to rest and people to love.
