About Sandy

Sandy – ID #17906 – Kennel #84 Arrived March 30th as a stray – American Pit Bull Terrier Mix – Brown – Female – 10 years old – 45.4 lbs – Spayed – Up to date on vaccines – Heartworm negative Meet Sandy — a beautiful, sweet, and dignified 10-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix who found herself without a home on March 30th and has been waiting in Kennel #84 ever since. This precious girl has lived a whole lifetime of love and loyalty, and the thought of her spending even one more day in a loud, busy shelter — let alone her golden years — is absolutely heartbreaking. She deserves so much more than that, and she deserves it now.   Sandy's past family loved her enough to teach her to sit, lay down, and shake — and she still remembers every single bit of it. She is treat motivated and takes them with the most enthusiastic, joyful energy that will make your heart sing. Despite her years, this girl still has plenty of love and life left in her, and she is ready and willing to share every last bit of it with someone who will treasure her the way she deserves.   Senior dogs like Sandy are among the most overlooked animals in shelters, and it is one of the deepest injustices of rescue life. She has already spent a lifetime giving love and devotion to the people in her life — she has earned a soft bed, a quiet home, and someone to cherish her through every remaining moment of her golden years. She should not be spending them in a kennel.   If you have room in your heart and your home for a sweet, loving, trained, and absolutely irreplaceable senior girl, Sandy is waiting for you in Kennel #84. She has so much left to give, and all she is asking for is someone to give her the chance to give it. Please come find her — she has waited long enough.
