About Matilda
Matilda is a grey tabby with truly unforgettable eyes and a set of extra toes that make her a world-class biscuit maker. Her early chapters are unknown, but her story took a turn when she appeared in Poultney last summer, kindly fed by neighbors. Despite their efforts to find her family, no one stepped forward, and their dogs weren't keen to share space. Luckily, a foster stepped up before winter. Early on, Matilda shied away from people, but she’s warmed up bit by bit—she now seeks out pets and gently rubs against her foster's legs. She’ll accept affection for a while, then politely let you know she’s had enough. Independence seems important to her, though there’s always the chance she’ll open up more with time. She’s fascinated by windows, drawn to cat beds and nooks, and can’t say no to a treat. While she still hisses a bit at the resident cat, there’s been no fighting, so she might adapt to a new feline housemate in the right situation. Matilda is looking for a quiet, understanding home where she can settle in at her own pace. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
