When Scoots first came to us, we believed we were rescuing a paralyzed dog. He couldn’t use his back legs and had clearly been surviving that way for quite some time. He had been abandoned on the streets, unable to walk, and left to starve. It should have been a death sentence. But Scoots had other plans. We saw the flicker of life in Scoots' eyes. He wanted to live! With time, rest, and good care… he started to improve. First, he stood. Then he took a few steps. And now? He runs. Is it a little wobbly? Absolutely. Is it the cutest thing you’ve ever seen? Also yes. Today, Scoots is a happy, silly, fully mobile little guy who lives life like nothing ever happened. He loves people, is obsessed with giving kisses, and brings nonstop joy to everyone around him. He’s great with dogs, cats, and kids, and he’s the perfect mix of playful and snuggly. He’s basically a tiny comedian in a Frenchie body. And here’s the best part— he does NOT require any special medical care. No daily treatments. No complicated routines. He’s just a normal dog living a very happy life. The only “note” is that, like many Frenchies, it’s best to avoid super high-impact activities (so maybe no parkour career… much to his disappointment). He’s more of a short walks, cuddles, and living-room tug-o-war. We do want to be transparent that Scoots had a spinal injury that healed beautifully. While he’s doing amazing now, there’s always a chance something could flare up again someday. It may never happen. But if it does, it would likely mean rest and recovery—something he’s already proven he handles like a champ. And if one day he ever needed a little extra help getting around again, he’d take it all in stride, just like he always has.
