Meet Belfort, he is a gentle Golden Retriever mix with a calm spirit and a heart full of love. He was found wandering near Bellfort and Beltway 8 in Houston, Texas underweight and alone, but still willing to trust a kind stranger who brought him to safety. At the vet, it was discovered that Belfort has a bullet lodged in his pelvic bone—something no dog should ever have to endure. Despite his past, he remains incredibly sweet, resilient, and trusting. Belfort is now thriving on a routine. He’s eating well, gaining strength, and enjoying the comfort of a safe place to rest. Currently he weighs 33 pounds. He is leash-trained, potty-trained, and walks calmly without pulling. He loves his walks and is happiest simply being near his people. He does well with other calm dogs and has also been good with cats. After everything he’s been through, he is ready for a soft place to land and a family who will show him the kindness he’s always deserved.
