A note from Julio's Fosters: We have been Julio’s longest fosters, and for the past six months we’ve had the absolute joy of loving and caring for this sweet boy. During that time, we’ve truly gotten to know him and can confidently say he is an incredible dog with so much love to give. Julio is a big love bug and one of the most affectionate pups you’ll ever meet. Every time you pet him, he gently leans his whole body into you and loves to sit right at your feet. He simply wants to be close to his people. He forms strong bonds and thrives on connection and companionship. He knows his basic commands including sit, down, and paw in both English and Spanish. He is smart, attentive, and eager to please. We have consistently worked with him on leash training, and he now walks very nicely without pulling. He checks in with you and responds well to guidance, which makes him a wonderful walking companion. Julio has a beautiful ability to match the energy of the home. If you are excited and ready to play, he is right there with you. He loves to lay in the sun. He loves tug of war, chasing tennis balls, climbing rocks, running around outside, and having chew toys to keep him engaged. At the same time, he genuinely enjoys his nap time and will happily relax when the house is calm. He adjusts well to the environment and settles in comfortably. He is fully house-trained and has not had any accidents in our home. He is also very quiet and rarely barks. Even when neighboring dogs are barking, Julio stays calm and unbothered. He has a steady, gentle temperament and does not react unnecessarily to outside noise. He also does very well with my elderly father. Julio is gentle and respectful. He will patiently wait for my father to pass by and will calmly sit near his feet. He seems to naturally understand when to be soft and careful, which speaks so highly of his temperament. While he has not been directly exposed to other dogs or children in our home, we have been informed that he does well playing with other dogs. From everything we have seen, he is a dog who truly wants to please and thrives with structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Julio would do wonderfully in a home that will continue giving him love, guidance, and opportunities to play and explore. He is loyal, affectionate, well-mannered, and brings both joy and calm into a household. Fostering him has been such a blessing, and we are confident he will make an amazing companion for his forever family.
