About Fern In Tn

Meet Fern, a stunning Great Pyrenees girl with all the classic Pyr charm - long, soft, fluffy fur and the kind of gentle eyes that will melt your heart the moment you meet her! Fern came to us after a rough start: she was found roaming as a stray in McKenzie, TN, was hit by a car, and needed FHO surgery (which she had in mid-February). But this resilient sweetheart is recovering beautifully and is ready to find her forever couch - er, home! Don't let her angelic face fool you, though. Fern is, as her foster mom lovingly puts it, "the manager behind the mischief" - she'll convince you of her innocence every time, but if the pack is up to something, it was most assuredly her idea. She is an up-close-and-personal kind of girl who loves getting right in your face and staying in the know. On the practical side, Fern is housebroken, leash trained, and crate trained, with a willingness to learn and a mild activity level that makes her a wonderful companion for a slower-paced household with plenty of couch time and movie nights. She's gentle with children, including infants, great with other dogs, and gets along well with cats too. A 4-foot fence is all she needs as she's no escape artist - she'd much rather stay close to her people than roam. Fern's favorite things include snuggles, a good brushing, wearing her pajamas, and the occasional kettle chip. She is truly a treasure to behold! Fern's ideal home would offer a middle-to-older aged male canine companion (or three!) who can zoom when the mood strikes but is equally happy just relaxing. If you're looking for a soft, fluffy, gentle-eyed CEO of snuggles to run your household, Fern is your girl! NYS Registered Rescue # RR102 NGPR dogs are in foster homes at the location specified on their full listing. View the full listing (with location, fee and application link) at HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTABLE-DOGS Completion of an application is required to be considered for any dog. Please fill out the application on our website and we will contact you. HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTION-APPLICATION/ Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
