About Nubz
Meet Nubz Nubz is a 2-year-old orange tabby with a story that could break your heart—and a spirit that will help put it back together again. Life hasn’t been kind to him, but you’d never know it from the way he loves. When Nubz was rescued, he was suffering from a severe tail injury that required amputation. That’s how he got his name—his little nub is a reminder of what he’s been through and how far he’s come. It’s adorable, but it’s also sensitive, so it’s strictly a look-don’t-touch situation. Nubz will let you know what he’s comfortable with, and in return, he’ll give you so much more love than you can imagine. Despite his rough start, Nubz is pure affection. He’s the kind of cat who doesn’t just sit next to you—he needs to be close. He’ll gently rub his face against your nose and lips to give you kisses, curl up in your lap, and fall asleep like he’s finally found the safety he’s always deserved. He isn’t just friendly—he’s deeply, genuinely loving. Nubz is FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus positive), which simply means he has a weakened immune system. It’s often misunderstood, but FIV is primarily spread through deep bite wounds—something that’s extremely unlikely in a calm, indoor home. Cats like Nubz can safely live with other friendly, non-aggressive cats and enjoy long, happy lives with proper care. He also has early-stage kidney disease, so he’ll need to stay on a special diet and live indoors where he can be safe and healthy. These needs may sound like a lot, but to Nubz, it just means he needs someone a little extra special—someone willing to love him for exactly who he is. And who he is… is extraordinary. Nubz doesn’t need a perfect home. He just needs his home. A place where he can be safe, cherished, and loved as much as he loves in return. If you’re looking for a companion who will truly bond with you—who will greet you with kisses, warm your lap, and remind you every day what resilience and love look like—Nubz is waiting. He’s been through the worst. Now he deserves the very best.
