About Pepino
Meet Pepino! Pepino is a gentle, sensitive boy figuring out that life beyond the shelter can be good. He’s still learning the world is safe, so he needs a patient family comfortable with giving him time and quiet space to settle in at his own pace. This sweet, soft-natured pup does well with other dogs, especially those with a chill, mellow temperament like his own. He’s got a moderate energy level—expect playful zoomies after a nap, but also long stretches spent resting nearby once he feels secure in his new home. Pepino seems house trained and signals when he needs to go out. If he can’t get outside quick enough, he’ll use washable puppy pads, showing how much effort he’s putting in. He’s a little wary with new people and might bark on first meeting, but with patience and calming introductions, he relaxes and builds trust. He’s crate trained and will settle in a wire crate, although he may whine a bit until he’s comfortable. Walks are still a work in progress—he’s gaining confidence gradually, so a securely fenced yard would really help him feel protected as he continues to adjust. Because Pepino can be nippy when overwhelmed or needs personal space, he’s best suited for a home without small children, and adopters must respect his boundaries. What he craves most is a loving, supportive person who’ll show him the world isn’t so scary. With time and kindness, Pepino promises to be a loyal, devoted companion.
