About Ivy
Meet Ivy Sweet Ivy was found wandering all alone-hungry, and painfully thin. What we didn't know at the time was just how much suffering this precious girl had been silently enduring. Today, Ivy saw our vet... and the news was heartbreaking. We believe she's around 14 years old, and her little body is struggling. She has severe periodontal disease, a broken lower jaw, and a mouth full of rotted teeth. The infection has eaten deep into her gums and is literally causing her jaw to deteriorate. On top of that, while she is thankfully heartworm negative, she is battling a heavy load of hookworms. Despite all of this... Ivy is nothing but love. She gently presses her head into your hands, soaking up every bit of affection she's likely gone without for far too long. She's discovered the comfort of a soft bed, a warm blanket, and kind hands-and she absolutely melts into it. She deserves to feel safe, cherished, and pain-free for the rest of her days. What's next for Ivy: She returns to the vet on Tuesday for a full dental and spay. She will lose all of her teeth to stop the infection, and once she's under anesthesia, the vet will determine if her jaw can be repaired or needs to be wired. This will be a big, delicate procedure for a senior girl... but we are giving her every chance. We need your help. Her care will be extensive, and we cannot do this without support. Every donation, every share, every prayer matters for Ivy.
