Sweetie is a friendly 15-yr old whose owner moved into assisted living and could not take him along. His family took him to the vet to be euthanized, but thankfully, the vet refused, and we were able to pull him into rescue. He is about 7-8 pounds, is crate-trained and walks okay on leash. He loves being carried, following his foster mom around the house and snuggling in bed with her at night. Sweetie does well with dogs and cats and seems to handle noisy situations fairly well, as long as he can see his person! Sweetie is alert and active for being an older guy, seems to like meeting new people and loves supervised outdoor time. WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required, which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. ADOPTION FEE of $ covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, heartworm test and treatment if needed, and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap, so thank you for understanding and helping us save as many as possible. We only do adoptions on Saturday, and not all animals are able to attend. If you would like to see a specific animal, please let us know via email and we will try to accommodate. However, we cannot guarantee the animal will be at the event without an approved application.
