About Sunflower

Start your journey together! Apply now. This beautiful 3-year-old labby girl (about 50–60 lbs) is as gentle as her name suggests, but she’s also a delicate soul who needs a little extra time and understanding to truly shine. Sunflower found her way to safety after bravely arriving, scared and uncertain, with her puppies on a kind person’s property. Since coming into care, she’s learning the world is not such a scary place, but she’s still very shy and takes her time to build trust. When she begins to feel safe, her soft, sweet nature blossoms and her true personality shines through. She is wonderfully dog-friendly and finds comfort in having other canine companions nearby. Due to her timid nature, Sunflower would do best in a home with older, respectful children who understand her need for patience and personal space. She’s still working on her leash confidence, so a securely fenced yard is important for her to feel happiest and safest right now. Sunflower isn’t a dog who will run up to greet you, but if you give her the chance to come to you at her own pace, the bond you build will be truly special. She’s looking for a loving, calm home willing to invest the time and care to help her blossom into her best self. If you believe in giving second chances and have a soft spot for shy souls, Sunflower may just be your perfect match. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and on heartworm and flea prevention. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
