About Roo
Meet Roo At just 2 years old (born 3/8) and weighing in at around 20 pounds, Roo is a handsome apricot/beige Cavapoo with a soft, curly coat—and an even softer heart. This little guy may be small, but his love for people is HUGE. Roo came to Dogworks through no fault of his own. He was surrendered due to financial and emotional hardships in his previous home. Since then, he’s been learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and part of a family—and he’s soaking it all in. If you’re looking for a constant companion, Roo is your guy. He is incredibly people-oriented and happiest when he’s right by your side—whether you’re relaxing on the couch or cooking in the kitchen (fair warning: he will try to convince you to share a bite). He’s a total cuddlebug who would gladly spend all day curled up in your lap if you let him. Roo is friendly, outgoing, and loves meeting new people. He gets along well with other dogs and peacefully coexists with cats (unless a playful chase starts—then he’s all in!). While he hasn’t lived with children yet, he would likely do best in a patient home, possibly with older kids who can respect his space and bond closely with him. He enjoys playing with his toys, especially stuffies and chew bones, but his favorite activity is simply being near his people. Roo is also learning some great manners—he knows commands like “down,” “stay,” and “off,” and responds well to gentle verbal correction. Roo is still gaining confidence with the world around him. Due to his past, he had very limited exposure to the outdoors, so new environments can feel a bit scary. He’s currently working on potty training and becoming more comfortable outside, and he’s already making great progress with the help of his foster siblings. A secure fenced yard will be important for him as he continues to build confidence. Like many pups, Roo isn’t a fan of loud household machines like vacuums or carpet cleaners and may bark or growl when he feels unsure—but with patience and reassurance, he continues to improve. Roo’s ideal home will be one filled with patience, understanding, and unconditional love. In return, you’ll get a loyal, affectionate companion who just wants to be your shadow and your snuggle buddy. If you’re ready to open your heart to a sweet, gentle soul who will love you endlessly, Roo is waiting He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, micro chipped, and is on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
