Meet Mocha Mocha is a beautiful tricolor girl (brown, black, and white) weighing in at around 30 lbs—and she’s as sweet as her name suggests. Rescued from an overcrowded situation, Mocha is now learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and part of a family. At first, Mocha can be a little shy and unsure in new situations. Loud noises and fast movement can startle her, and her instinct is to retreat to a safe space like her crate. But give her a little time, patience, and a calm environment, and you’ll see her true personality shine. Once she trusts you, Mocha completely melts. She’ll snuggle right up next to you, curl into your lap, and soak up all the love she can get. She especially adores quiet moments on the couch and has a soft spot for gentle companionship—she’s the kind of dog who bonds deeply with “her person.” Mocha loves being outside and will happily spend time exploring the yard, especially if there are squirrels or birds to watch (or chase!). Because of her love for the outdoors—and her tendency to play “hard to get” when it’s time to come inside—she will need a home with a fenced yard. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would likely thrive with a confident canine companion to help show her the ropes. She’s also lived with children and has a special fondness for her foster’s 9-year-old. With her gentle nature, she could do well in a home with respectful kids. Mocha is crate trained, potty trained, and knows how to sit. She responds well to gentle redirection and wants to do the right thing—she just needs someone who understands that she’s still building confidence. She’s not quite leash-savvy yet, and when scared, she may freeze, but with patience and positive reinforcement, she’ll continue to grow. Mocha’s ideal home is calm, patient, and understanding—one that will give her the time she needs to blossom into the loving, loyal companion she’s meant to be.
