About Richie
Richie is about 1.5 years old and comes from a back yard in Hometown. He was TNR'd through Save the Strays of Schuylkill in October last year, was brave enough to allow pets in November, and his foster family has been socializing him since then, allowing him to come and go and get used to their presence on his own timeline. He has made great progress in only 4 months, but can still be a little skittish and should be with a family who wants a full-time indoor cat and understands that he is a work in progress. He gets more affectionate and his personality comes out more every day, but his fosters are allergic and can't keep him. Due to the allergies, he does not sleep in the house overnight or stay inside when his foster parents are at work, but sleeps in a heated hut on their covered deck and has been left alone inside for a few hours at a time. He loves playing with a laser and stuffed mice, loves to flop on the floor in front of you and roll around for pets, loves finding a comfortable place to sleep, is very curious and explores their house, but doesn't bother their houseplants, loves the lickable treats, will hop up on your lap when you least expect it (big progress there), and has a lot to say when he wants attention. There are no other animals or children in the house, and he has had no aversion to strangers who have visited. He will need to be litter box trained. His fosters do not have a litter box, but he quickly learned to tell them when he needed to go outside. He eats both canned food and kibble.
