About Richie
Richie is about 1.5 years old and came from a backyard life in Hometown, rescued last October through Save the Strays of Schuylkill. His foster family has spent months patiently socializing him—he started allowing pets in November and has continued to grow more trusting and affectionate since. Richie still startles easily and needs a home that appreciates a work in progress; he will thrive with someone committed to keeping him indoors and helping him gain confidence at his own pace. He’s curious, loves laser toys and stuffed mice, and has a soft spot for flopping down and rolling over when he wants attention. Richie will surprise you by hopping onto your lap and voicing his opinion when he wants company. He isn't bothered by visitors and gets along with cats but has not lived with children or other pets. Since his fosters are allergic, he hasn't slept indoors at night but has been content in a heated hut on a covered deck and has handled a few hours alone inside. He needs to be litter box trained, but he learned to ask to go outside when necessary. Canned food, kibble, and lickable treats are all on his menu. Ready to fall in love?
