Sonny was born about March 30, 2020 and weighs about 30 lbs. He is absolutely adorable in our view, but a Beagle breeder felt he was too tall for his purpose and gave him to a family member who found him far too busy in their downtown home without a fence and he SO wanted to play with the two little dogs and they weren't much fun. The family tried to manage and put him on prozac, but decided he would be able to live his best life in a more appropriate situation for a fun, young, Beagle. Sonny is now looking for his forever home with another playful dog his size or larger and a fenced yard as Beagles tend to have wanderlust. Sonny is house trained, but will mark since he has gone without being neutered...until now. Hopefully, with him getting neutered this behavior will decrease with time and training. He was living with a 9 y/o boy and they were best buds. He does love to snuggle and he is good in the car. Sonny went for show and tell at a PetSmart last weekend and here is the report back from our wonderful volunteer Suzanne: I just saw the video with Sonny, and it reminded me that I want to let you know that he is very good on a leash. He was excited when he got out of the truck and super aware of his surroundings, but once he understood where he was and that he was safe, he walked like a charm with me. He would even look up at me for cues from time to time while we were walking. He was also very friendly with people and other dogs, cuddly, loved hugs, and sat contentedly on a lap for part of the time at Petsmart. He was a very good boy. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $_400.00. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability.
