About Willa
Meet Willa! Willa is a 4-year-old spayed female All-American dog who has already proven how resilient she is. She lost a leg after being hit by a car, and while she has a few superficial scars that give her a slightly tougher appearance, her personality is anything but tough. Willa is a wonderfully kind and easygoing dog who enjoys the company of other dogs - as long as they play fair and don't take advantage of her limitations. She loves to chase and wrestle with dog friends and keeps up surprisingly well on three legs! In her kennel she is calm, relaxed, and respectful, and she is likely house trained, as she very rarely makes a mess in her space. She's the kind of dog who just quietly waits for someone to notice what a good girl she is. Willa has special needs - she is heartworm positive. Dogs with heartworm disease can live happy, high-quality lives with proper care. Heartworm positive dogs have just as much love and companionship to offer as any other dog and deserve a chance at a forever home! By adopting Willa, you are truly saving a life. Ask staff about the Stormie Rain Heartworm Fund and what assistance may be available to help with her heartworm treatment. ADOPTION PROCESS: Our adoption process is simple and straightforward. Start by completing our pre-screening application: https://tinyurl.com/adoptfromHSCC Applications are typically approved or declined the same day. Once approved and all parties agree, adoption fees are paid and the contract is signed. If the pet is not yet spayed/neutered or current on a rabies vaccine, they will not go home the same day. An appointment will be scheduled, and you'll receive further instructions at that time. We hope this helps answer your questions!
