BATMAN & KATIE (BONDED PAIR) Names: Batman & Katie Breed: Domestic Short Hair Ages: ⢠Batman: ~10 years â solid black ⢠Katie: ~18 months â petite gray & white Sex: Male (Batman), Female (Katie) Good With: No other pets Medical: ⢠Batman â FIV+, history of being shot, mild paw sensitivity, idiopathic cystitis (managed with prescription urinary diet), stressârelated hair loss ⢠Katie â Healthy Status: Bonded pair, must be adopted together Meet Batman & Katie â Two Survivors Who Found Healing in Each Other Batman and Katie came into rescue separately, but their stories share the same beginning: both were found outside, scared, alone, and trying to survive. Batman â The Gentle, Solid Black Senior Who Has Survived the Unthinkable Batman appeared during a brutal cold snap, trying to stay warm inside a strawâfilled box on the porch. He was starving, exhausted, and unbelievably sweet despite everything he had endured. Once rescued, Xârays revealed the heartbreaking truth â Batman had been shot, and bullet fragments remain in his paw. The main bullet was removed, but the trauma left him with some sensitivity when walking. Even after all of this, Batman remains gentle, loving, and grateful for every bit of kindness. He is also FIV+, which does not stop him from living a long, happy life. His biggest medical need is managing idiopathic cystitis, a stressârelated bladder condition controlled with Hillâs Science Diet Urinary Care. Now that he finally feels safe, Batmanâs personality is blossoming. He has been caught on camera sharing playful moments with Katie â something brandânew for him. Watching a cat with such a painful past rediscover joy is nothing short of amazing. He is becoming a shining star. Batman has also shown some stressârelated hair loss, which is common in cats with his history. To support him, he now receives two gentle, holistic supplements once daily with breakfast â and because he and Katie share food, she benefits from them too. Katie â The Petite Gray & White Girl Who Needed Safety and Found Love Katie was found outside as well â frightened, shy, and unsure of people. After quarantine, she was introduced to Batman for companionship and emotional support. What happened next was pure magic: Katie and Batman bonded instantly. She became his comfort, and he became her confidence. They sleep together, play together, and rely on each other deeply. Katie absolutely cannot be without Batman â he is her safety and her emotional anchor. Batman, for his part, loves her dearly⌠even if he occasionally needs a break from her enthusiastic affection. Their Personalities Batman - Sweet, gentle, and deeply appreciative of love - Calm, steady, oldâsoul energy - Newly playful â enjoying toys and interacting with Katie - Loves cat trees, window watching, and peaceful routines Katie - Petite, playful, and full of energy - Shy at first, but blossoms with patience - Loves to love on Batman - Enjoys toys, catnip, and exploring Together, they balance each other beautifully â Batmanâs calm steadiness and Katieâs youthful joy. 𩺠Medical, Supplements & Daily Care Batman - FIV+ (not contagious through casual contact) - Idiopathic cystitis â fully managed with a prescription urinary diet - Stressârelated hair loss - Daily supplements for stress support and overall wellness Katie - Healthy with no known medical concerns - Benefits from the shared supplements and routine Daily Supplements (Given Once Each Morning) Both cats receive these mixed into their dry food: 1. Life Extension Taurine Powder - Capsule opened and sprinkled over food - Supports cardiovascular health, brain function, and overall wellness - Approx. $15 per bottle - With Subscribe & Save, the cost is even lower - One bottle lasts nearly a year 2. Pet Hemp Oil for Cats & Dogs (Calming Formula) - Two full droppers mixed into their morning dry food - Helps reduce stress, anxiety, and inflammation - Approx. $23 for a twoâpack - Duration of each bottle varies, still being tracked - Safe for both cats These supplements are primarily for Batmanâs stress and hair loss, but since the pair shares food, Katie receives them as well â and they gently support her emotional wellbeing too. Important Dietary & Financial Information Batmanâs urinary condition requires a prescription urinary diet to keep him healthy and comfortable. Adopters have two safe options: Option 1 â Feed Both Cats the Prescription Diet (Cheapest Option) - Continue feeding Hillâs Science Diet Urinary Care to both cats - Approx. $150/month for both cats - This is the simplest and most affordable option Option 2 â Feed Them Separately Katie can safely eat a standard diet if fed separately. Her recommended food: - Purina ONE Tender Selects Blend Real Chicken Dry Cat Food Approx. $34 for a 16 lb bag Katie also loves wet food and will still need her ½ can of Purina ONE wet food daily, which adds additional monthly cost. To safely separate their diets, adopters must use a microchipâactivated feeder for Batman (and possibly Katie). - Approx. $165 each - Ensures Batman only eats his prescription food - Prevents Katie from eating the urinary diet These two are not âspecial needsâ cats, but they are special â and their care does come with financial responsibility. Itâs important that adopters understand and are prepared for this commitment. What They Come With To help Batman and Katie transition smoothly into their new home, they will come with: - Their favorite cat tree - Their favorite cat bed - Any remaining prescription food they have at the time of adoption - Any remaining Supplements These items are provided at no extra cost and will help them feel safe and familiar in their new environment. Ideal Home Batman & Katie need a home that is: - Quiet and calm - Adultâonly - Petâfree (no dogs, no other cats) - Patient, gentle, and understanding of their past - Willing to maintain Batmanâs dietary and supplement needs - Ready to love a bonded pair who have survived so much They currently live in a fully furnished cat room with a tall gate so they can observe the household without stress. They are curious, engaged, and clearly ready to integrate into a real home with a slow, thoughtful introduction. A Special Message to Potential Adopters Batman and Katie have endured trauma, fear, and instability â yet they have blossomed into loving, playful, resilient cats. Their transformation is incredible to witness. Because of everything theyâve been through, they will need time to: - Understand their new surroundings - Feel safe - Trust their new family - Settle into a new routine Please do not apply unless you can dedicate this time to Batman and Katie. They deserve patience, stability, and a home that will never give up on them.
